I am an artist and restoration ecologist who grew up on a small farm in Taos, New Mexico. My work is deeply influenced by my home--the eclectic town at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, where desert mesas meet snow capped peaks and the Rio Grande Gorge cuts a zigzag through the earth.
I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Landscape Ecology at the University of Hohenheim in Germany. My goal is to create art that will strengthen people’s understanding of and relationship to the natural world and bring awareness to issues like the global threat to biodiversity, soil, water, and our food system. I simultaneously hope to spark people's imaginations and curiosity by depicting the incredible beauty and complexity of nature.

Ecology comes from the Greek word "oiko," meaning "household." Through art, farming, science and place-based knowledge my intention is to learn about and tell stories of my home. I believe that we must extend the boundary of our "household" to contain the entire land community and through this strengthen our connection to place and our commitment to its care, maintenance, and protection.

Nature has so much to teach us, but in western societies we must stop seeing ourselves as separate from it. Our "household" is the biosphere to which we were born and thus we have a responsibility to it.
